Mrs Sandhya is working in the Virus Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL), Shimoga, Department of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Karnataka for the past three decades. She has handled various responsibilities at the Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) vaccine production unit. Her area of specialization includes KFD vaccine production and quality control (safety and potency tests), and KFD seed virus preparation. Mrs Sandhya is actively involved in serological and molecular diagnosis of dengue, chikungunya and Kyasanur Forest Disease cases, and is part of the KFD outbreak investigation team.
